How Letter Boxed Works

The Box

Letters are arranged on four sides of a square. Each side has exactly 3 letters.

Word Rules

Words must be at least 3 letters long. Adjacent letters in a word cannot be from the same side of the box.

Winning Condition

Use all 12 letters at least once across your words. Try to solve it with as few words as possible.

Word Chaining

The last letter of one word should be the first letter of the next word (when possible).

Strategy Tips

  • Look for long words that use many letters
  • Start with uncommon letters (Q, X, Z) to get them used early
  • Try to find 2-word solutions for the best score
  • Use word endings like -ING, -ED, -ER to chain words
  • Remember: letters can be reused multiple times
